Annie Eilenberg is the protagonist of Atelier Annie: Alchemists of Sera Island. Annie is a lackadaisical 17 year old girl who is the granddaughter of the alchemist Bentner. She wishes to marry a rich man to avoid having to do any work. Annie has a lazy attitude and used to be a shut-in, but is a actually a friendly person. After being kidnapped in the middle of the night and taken to Sera Island by her grandfather's homunculi, she winds up being involved in an alchemy competition that is being used to develop the island. Though she doesn't originally like the idea of joining the contest, she changes her mind and gains motivation when she hears of the contests rewards - a big monetary price and the right to marry the prince of Orde, Joel. She is taught alchemy by a fairy named Pepe.
