Aoi Hyōdō is the nephew of Satsuki, the owner of the maid café where Misaki works, the child of Satsuki's older brother, a professional cross dresser/net idol as a child, and a fashion designer as an adult. Aoi has very androgynous features with big blue eyes with long eyelashes and dark purple hair styled in a bowl cut. He is considered, both as a woman and a man, as being very cute. When presenting as a woman, he wears a blonde, curly wig and uses Satsuki's old dresses, Over time, Aoi' s voice begins to change, becoming more manly and less feminine, much to Aoi's initial dismay. After Honoka's encouragement, Aoi learns how to embrace fashion while still maintaining masculinity and is seen sporting stylish suits rather than Lolita style dresses. From chapter 81, he seems to have grown taller (at around 165cm) which is demonstrated by the fact that Aoi is now the same height as Misaki. Aoi likes cute, pretty and fluffy things, as well as being the center of attention. He enjoys toying with the feelings of men to validate his own cuteness, but is eventually exposed as a boy by Misaki. Aoi hates boring knowledge, adults and kids. He also dislikes school, his classmates, teachers, and studying. Aoi is generally short-tempered and possesses very little patience. He is also shown to become embarrassed after doing something kind or showing affection for someone and suddenly becomes angry afterwards. Aoi is frequently kicked out of his house because his father, Satsuki’s brother, does not approve of Aoi dressing as a woman. Due to bullying for liking cute and pretty things, Aoi dresses up as a girl instead of enjoying such things as a boy. Misaki is under the impression that he hates her; they frequently scold her for her poor fashion sense and unfeminine strength. Aoi later yells at Misaki for not being more decisive about her relationship with Takumi, and for leading Hinata on, even if she was doing it unintentionally. It's this scolding that eventually pushes her admit to Hinata (and probably for the first time, clearly, to herself) that she does in fact have feelings for Takumi. Even so, Aoi developed a crush or form of affection/admiration for Misaki, though Aoi did not confess because he can see she loves Takumi.
