Ashley "Leyley" Graves is one of the two titular main protagonists of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley. She shares this role with her brother, Andrew Graves. Ashley is a young, pale-skinned and thin woman with deep pink eyes and black, shoulder-length, unruly hair, which she keeps in a loose and low ponytail. Ashley wears a black choker with a pendant hanging from it. She also wears a black shirt which reveals her cleavage and the straps for her black brassiere, which are shown to have polka dots in official art of her. She wears grey denim shorts and grey lace-up boots, which are accompanied with black ankle socks. She shares a good part of her facial expressions with those of her mother. As a child, Ashley, or Leyley, had much shorter hair that was accompanied with a total of five hairpins; three barrettes and two snap pins. She wore a violet t-shirt with black stripes under black dungarees, a purple belt and ebony shorts. Leyley wore violet brothel creepers. Much like the other characters, her in-game sprite is a stoic grayscale pixel-art version of her. As Leyley, she has a more pinkish palette. As Ashley, she features a noticeable frown. Ashley exhibits sociopathic and antisocial traits throughout the game. She feels little to no remorse after committing violent crimes, such as murder and cannibalism. She also demonstrates being verbally violent, and apathetic when it comes to other people's feelings. Even as a child, she felt no remorse for murdering Nina after finding out she had a crush on her brother. She also berated and hounded Julia for dating Andrew, which was one of the main reasons, if not the main one, for their breakup. The few times she tries to justify her actions, she looks for ways to alleviate her guilt or blame whoever was killed; by saying, for example, that having murdered the hitman was not an issue since he was carrying knives, without taking into account the fact that she — or rather, her brother — had killed him with the gun of a guard that she had also indirectly killed. Ashley demonstrates throughout the story an unhealthy obsession with Andrew, to the point that she'd do anything if it ensured his continued presence by her side. This jealousy means she has no qualms with killing the people closest to them or indulging him in any of his desires, whether romantic or sexual. As he was her sole caretaker, she became reliant on him because of the neglect her parents imposed on her. Consequently, she demonstrates ignorance or hatred towards most people who even remotely cross paths with her or her brother's life, reaching the point of considering their deaths as suitable options. Just like Andrew, she is codependent on her sibling, which leads them to enable each other in their insanity. The toxic relationship means their interactions often border on the extreme, with events such as lengthy conversations about the crimes recently committed by themselves. However, unlike him, she has a confident, unconcerned, and upbeat attitude which often annoys him. Arguments between the two are not uncommon, and it is showed several times that the line between this escalating into a fight is thin. She has expressed multiple times in-game (and as confirmed by the creator), that while she has no genuine romantic or sexual interest in him, she expects Andrew to meet all her needs, and will go that far to keep him around.
