Astharoshe Asran

Astharoshe Asran, Duchess of Kyiv and Viscountess of Odesa, is a Methuselah of the New Human Empire. Although she initially has a very low opinion of Terrans of the outside world, it changes after the events of the series. Astharoshe is a tall (standing over 180 centimeters) and attractive woman with ivory white hair (blonde hair in the anime) that is very long at the bottom and short on the top with a single red tuft across her forehead, amber eyes that has slit-like pupils, large breasts and rich red lips. In her youth, she had red hair, but the grief from the loss of Countess Len Yearnosh (Astharoshe's best friend) caused it to fade and lose the majority of its color. In the manga, she cuts her hair short after some of it was burned off by an attack from Dietrich von Lohengrin. Astharoshe's normal clothing within the Empire is usually a short blue dress with blue, white and gold or silver, an armored but low-cut top and high white boots. Like most of the boyar within the Empire, her clothing is usually richly embroidered with several star-moon insignias of the New Human Empire. During her mission in the out of the Empire, she is also shown in an elaborate red dress, as well as a black outfit consisting of a bodice, pants and coat. Her arcana in Thores' tarot cards is The Judgement. She has a spear named "Gae Bolg" (meaning "spear of mortal pain/death spear"), a lost technology. The spear uses ionized xenon gas to create a high-density, high-temperature plasma blade capable of cutting through anything. Astharoshe is a hot-headed and strong-willed woman who has a short temper and she is very easily irritated. Despite initially hating Terrans outside the Empire, she later softens her view on them, including Abel Nightroad.
