Battenichi-chan

Battenichi-chan, or just Battenichi (ばってんいち), is an OS-tan that personifies Windows 8.1. She is designed by Shimuro, who also designed Seven-chan and 11-chan. Battenichi is portrayed as anxious, especially due to Windows 8.1 ending support on January 10, 2023. Battenichi has an appearance in Nijikaku, a fighting game project for the M.U.G.E.N game engine by Futaba Channel users. Her name is a wordplay of 八点一 (hachitenichi), which means "eight dot/point one", referencing Windows 8.1. In Chinese, the character 八 is also read as bā.
