Akanemaru meets a girl who visits Saigoku in search of a phoenix. Akanemaru helps her when she is about to be killed by Ishiko because she stole the annual tribute rice. For the first time she is a person who has been kind to her, she longs for Akanemaru, and she comes to Nara.
