Cherie is the Princess of Kalxath, descendant of Lance and Narm, and a Descendant of Light. Bored with her royal life, and unwilling to shoulder the burdens of royalty, she often slips out of the capital to travel alone, causing trouble for her teacher, Keith. The first time she appears on the scene, she conceals her appearance. It is quite a surprise to everyone that she is a girl.
