Chigusa Yuki

Growing up as a big fan of Dragon Fujiko, Chigusa decides to travel to Tokyo to participate in the New Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling rookie tryouts. But on the day, not only is she running late, but she has trouble even finding the New Japan headquarters. Deciding to ask someone for directions, she picks Megumi Muto whom she sees standing around on the street doing nothing. Muto does not know where the headquarters is either, but is willing to help her search for it. By the time they find their destination, Chigusa has managed to persuade Muto to enter the tryouts with her since the latter has nothing better to do. Both of them end up passing and joining New Japan. Chigusa becomes emotional for being given the orientation tour of the New Japan headquarters by none other than Risako Sakuma, whom (as Panther Risako) she used to religiously follow on TV every weekend. She is flabbergasted to discover that Muto does not even know who Risako is. Despite their very different upbringings, Chigusa and Muto have already become lifelong best friends. Chigusa's and Muto's first close encounter with Mighty Yukiko and Beauty Ichigaya involve the two juniors trying to break up a fight outside the ring between the two seniors. Chigusa is unharmed, but Muto is knocked unconscious by Ichigaya. Chigusa sits by Muto's bedside in hospital until Muto wakes up, and the two vow to help each other level up. Muto is picked for deployment to Mexico, but Chigusa is determined to keep pace with Muto despite staying in Japan. Chigusa initially thinks she is doing well, as before long she has improved enough to defeat her senior Shinobu Echigo. But news from Mexico that Muto has defeated AAC ace Chocho Caras places Chigusa's own comparatively minor achievement in perspective. Ichigaya quitting New Japan to start JWI becomes big news in the dorm. A few days later, Chigusa is shocked to hear that Muto is among the wrestlers who have defected to JWI. When Thunder Ryuko and Anny Beach crash New Japan, Chigusa watches the event. During Ryuko's singles match against Yukiko, Chigusa naturally starts out rooting for Yukiko, but over the course of the match becomes convinced that Ryuko will win, until Yukiko ultimately defies her revised expectations and takes the victory. Chigusa is thoroughly inspired by the spirits of both wrestlers, and gains new motivation to improve herself. Chigusa is happy to finally receive her first overseas deployment to Germany, where EWA has requested one representative from New Japan and one from JWI. The JWI representative is a masked wrestler known as Bushido, whom Chigusa instantly recognizes as Muto. Chigusa imagines that the mask is hiding a terrible facial scar, and becomes distressed. Deeply moved, Muto reveals her true identity (and unscarred face), and the best friends share an emotional reunion. Returning to Japan, Chigusa wins the IWWF Junior Champion title from Riyu Kikuchi. After JWI implodes, Yukiko forms a one-time tag team with Chigusa for a special match against returning defectors Muto and Hikaru Ogawa in order to scourge them. As expected, Yukiko and Chigusa win easily. Afterwards, Chigusa is tasked with catching Muto at the airport to deliver to her a first-class plane ticket to America. As she hears of Muto's further achievements in America, Chigusa feels she must do more in order to not fall behind. Without a particular destination in mind, she decides to set off on a journey alone and vows to not return until she acquires at least one additional champion belt. After a period of wandering, she winds up in Europe where she decides to wrestles with EWA. She initially has no designs on seeking the EWA Heavyweight Champion title currently held by the formidable Nastassja Han. But after hearing news of Muto's depression caused by her departure, she decides to go for it in order to fulfill her vow and be free to return to Japan as soon as possible. She defeats Han to win the title and sets off back home, planning to make it in time to cheer for Yukiko and Muto in their highly anticipated tag match against Ichigaya and Jena Megalight. Arriving at the New Japan headquarters, she learns that Yukiko has been hospitalized. As soon as Chigusa appears in front of Muto, both of them realize that their destiny is to be tag partners with each other (or in Muto words: "Chigusa, you are the biggest idiot there is.") In a display of flawless teamwork, Chigusa and Muto magnificently topple Ichigaya and Megalight and become the new IWWF Tag Team Champions. Their victory, and the story of the friendship behind it, lights up the entire wrestling world with new inspiration.
