Chitose Manazuru

Chitose Manazuru is the Master of Lancer in the large Holy Grail War that predates the events of Fate/Requiem. They are still contracted in the world "After" the Holy Grail War‎‎. Chitose is Erice Utsumi's grandmother, despite her young appearance. Chitose is known as the Stigmata (聖痕スティグマータ). She and her Servant Lucius Longinus won the Holy Grail War 14 years ago that ended World War III and changed the world. While the other victors of the Holy Grail Wars in various places fought in muddy battles to possess the Holy Grails that others had won, Chitose put an end to that by choosing to settle it in a similar manner to a tournament. Chitose asked to the wish granting Holy Grail to persist and distribute itself, becoming Grails in the hearts of humans, terminal devices of the Stigmata. Chitose lives in Mosaic City's Shinjuku, and raised Erice after her father (Chitose's son) and mother (a Servant woman) died. In Mosaic City, Chitose's final word is equal to the judgement of the Holy Grail. Her decisions cannot be overturned. Chitose and Lucius are the strongest Servant and Master pair in all of Mosaic City. When an emergency in Mosaic City causes Code Crimson to be declared, the pair answers the call as the city's defenders. Calm, collected and polite but seemingly manipulative. She also wields authoritative tone over the Caren Series. Described by Erice as inhuman and someone who brings misfortune whenever she visits, she is seen to have control over Erice's well being - first by suspending Erice's job through Caren Fujimura's order issue, and then attempting to take Voyager away from Erice whom she is assigned to look after. She also knows a lot more things that Erice doesn't about Mosaic City, although it may be Erice's conjecture for the time being. Erice sees her as a "person whom one should not expect family affections from". Erice states that Chitose is prone to jokes, but not to deception. Chitose appears to be stuck in the past. According to Erice, Mosaic City's Shinjuku being modeled after Japan of the early 20th century was Chitose's idea. In addition to wearing an old style high school uniform, the interior of Chitose's home has not changed one bit in the years between Erice moving out and returning. She does not leave her house in times of peace. Chitose in Erice's memories doesn't seem as cold and manipulative as she is in the present. When Erice was young Chitose was cutting her hair and accidentally clipped her granddaughter's ear, causing it to bleed. Erice describes Chitose as having an expression "so deeply grieved that the world might as well have ended." Even after tending to the wound, Chitose still looked like she was going to cry.
