Elbing

Elbing is a Pillau-class light cruiser who originally was ordered by the Imperial Russian navy under the name Admiral Nevelskoy. She was laid down in 1913, but following the outbreak of World War I, she was seized in August 1914 and launched on 21 November 1914 as Elbing. She was then commissioned into the High Seas Fleet (Hochseeflotte) in September 1915. Elbing participated in two major operations during her career.
