Futaba Kuze

Futaba Kuze is one of the main protagonists of Blue Flag. Futaba is a petite girl with large eyes, light brown hair, and a round face. At the start of the series, she has long waist-length wavy hair and bangs That she cuts short as a show of determination. When not wearing her school uniform, Futaba is often seen wearing long and flowy outfits adorned with floral patterns that accent her love of flowers. She grows her hair out as an adult, similar to what she had before cutting her hair in high school. An impossibly naive girl who fell for Touma. She ends up befriending Ichinose in an attempt to learn more about him, but they end up becoming close friends with each other and Touma as well. She is very sweet and tries her hardest, but her natural clumsiness and naivete make it hard for her to befriends others in her class. Futaba is a gentle and timid girl, often compared to a hamster (and later a chinchilla as she grows in confidence). She gets flustered easily and stutters when she is embarrassed. Futaba is very warmhearted, caring, and loyal but suffers from incredibly low self-esteem which often causes her to second guess her own ability and self-worth. When she feels negative about something, she is unable to bring herself to speak out against it without encouragement from her friends leading some of her schoolmates to consider her indecisive. When she finds out about Touma liking Taichi, she wonders if he would choose Touma now that it wasn’t just about a relationship between a girl and a guy anymore as she sees Touma as a perfect human being.
