Fool

Fool, alias Erna, is a character introduced in Spy Classroom series. Erna has bright yellow hair and skin so fair it makes her skin look like porcelain. Her body is small for her age and she had enough of a babyface that she could be mistaken for being as young as ten. Her frilly dress only adds to the appearance that she’s a crafted doll. Wearing a gothic lolita styled spy outfit. Erna also wears a black opaque pantyhose underneath that dress. Erna is by far the least talkative and least social member of Lamplight, not just from the events of Light Novel Volume 1, but as she’s taciturn by nature. She struggled as a spy as her communication skills were sorely lacking. While she is shy and considers herself antisocial Calling her a total introvert wouldn't be accurate. Her shyness and poor communication skills don't come from a conscious and deliberate dislike of people and social situations, but from her fear and anxiety. According to Erna herself, she is talkative with people she's close to and in group settings and with a bit of effort can talk to strangers. But she struggles when it comes to talking one on one with teammates. Erna is aware of her shyness and taciturn personality and dislikes being patronized about it, but is able to vocalize how her social anxiety effects her when talking to Thea even if she's struggling to get a word out. Erna desires Big Sister, shown when she calls her superiors 'Big Sis' and is incredibly lonely, as her family died in a mansion fire when she was very young. While other kids grew up with their moms and dads, Erna grew up alone and desires someone to fill the void. According to Erna’s Psychiatrist, Erna believes that her survival from the mansion fire was unfair, and unconsciously tries to seek out punishment to regulate her own emotions. Its where her subconscious lure to accidents come from and why she threw herself into the world on spycraft. All because of her feelings of self hatred and desire for atonement from her family burning in the mansion fire. Her happiness is unfair, why does she get live and be happy while her brother and sister burned alive in that fire? While she’s not suicidal, she feels intense survivors guilt and has been a prisoner to that guilt for years. Ever since childhood, Erna’s attracted bad luck . She was born into an aristocratic family and lost her parents in a tragic mansion fire. Since the loss, Erna’s been plagued with misfortune at an alarming rate. After so many close brushes with misfortune, Erna developed a sense for bad luck which she states holds a certain smell. When Erna attended her spy academy with Annette, and It's said she threw herself into the dangerous line of work because of her appending guilt and predisposition to unluckiness. Erna arrived late at the Heat Haze Palace after running into a series of accidents.
