He is the main characters best friend and often sticks up for him even when it is not in his favor. He has a quiet demeanor and a strong sense of honor. Gukja had a very unflattering appearance, being visibly heavyset and sporting a goatee. This look was so unflattering, that many characters questioned whether he was young enough to be a high schooler.
