Hikaru Kamiki is the main antagonist of Oshi no Ko. He is the man who fathered Aqua and Ruby with Ai Hoshino and the person who leaked Ai's address to a disgruntled fan, leading to her death and prompting his son to devote his life to tracking him down and getting revenge. He is the president of Kamiki Productions. He is later revealed to also be Taiki Himekawa's biological father, having been molested by the latter's mother when he was a child before allegedly having her murdered as well by telling her husband about the affair. Hikaru is an attractive man who bears great resemblance to his son, to the point that Akane Kurokawa almost mistook him for the latter. Similar to Ai Hoshino and their children whenever they embrace the darker aspects of their personalities, he also has a black star in each eye. Whilst in public, Hikaru hides his true appearance using a variety of disguises, seemingly taking particular care to hide his eyes. When he went to visit Ai's grave, he wore a long overcoat with a hat and sunglasses. Whilst passing Akane, he once again wore sunglasses but this time put on a black suit, as he was at a high-class gathering. During his interactions with Yura Katayose, he tied his hair in a ponytail and kept his eyes closed. Hikaru is a sadistic and possibly insane murderer who enjoys watching the life fade from his victims, claiming that it makes him "feel the weight of his own life"; a warped mindset that seems to have originated from having been sexually taken advantage of when he was just a child. However, as a former aspiring actor, he can skillfully hide his true nature in public by taking on the guise of a rather casual and dependable individual who others can lean on. He even managed to feign regret for his role in Ai's murder to his children before attempting to kill his daughter as well, laughing about the whole thing upon being confronted about it. In further showcase of Hikaru's irredeemably deranged and broken mind, his last thoughts were that he regrets not killing Ruby, because if he did, he would have felt Ai's presence much closer. In fact, his murders were all for the purpose of elevating Ai's existence while filling his own void. However, there seems to be a side of Hikaru that truly seeks kinship with others, immediately taking an interest in his son upon realizing that he has the same "lying eyes" as himself. He also appears to have a habit of sending white flowers to up-and-coming actresses, though this could just be a method to draw in new victims. When carrying out his murders, Hikaru is highly cautious to leave no incriminating evidence. He does this by making use of proxies; telling the husband of the actress who molested him about their affair, leaking Ai's address to a disgruntled fan, and convincing another fan of Ai that Ruby and Yura Katayose were upstaging her. According to Aqua and Nino, he is also a serial manipulator who uses his charisma to befriend others before taking advantage of their weakness to trick them into committing murder in his name, all whilst denying any blame under the pretense of not doing the deeds himself. Because of this Aqua describes him as "worse than a murderer", calling him an "instigator who refuses to get his hands dirty". When being cornered by Aqua who shows his intent to kill Hikaru, he attempts to smooth talk his way into making Aqua desist from the deed as it would affect Ruby's reputation. However, when Aqua shows unflinching determination and the cunning arrangements he has made to ensure Ruby would be protected, Hikaru begins to panic and even questions Aqua's sanity, crying out to his son to stop, exposing his cowardice when confronted with danger. Upon falling off the cliffs and to the sea, Hikaru, with his last actions, tries to kill Aqua through choking. In the end, Hikaru gravely underestimates his son and this would became his downfall which leads to his death. Despite of his insane, heinous actions, Hikaru is fully aware of the extent of his depravity, believing the weight of his sin to be the reason why he could not feel Ai's presence. As he fought for his life, Hikaru felt the presence of the many victims he had killed, resigning himself to his fate as they dragged him to the bottom of the abyss. According to Aqua's portrayal of him in The 15 Year Lie, when he was a middle schooler, Hikaru was a considerably more withdrawn and somewhat submissive boy, seemingly traumatized by having been molested. He is depicted as an empty individual who, much like Ai, yearned for genuine love after being in a long-term transactional relationship. Hikaru was aware that he was being taken advantage of but believed that this was the only way someone like him could be loved. As a result, he became very skilled at lying, with no one ever catching on to his true nature until Ai came along. As seen from Ai's perspective, Hikaru had been consumed by the darkness of the entertainment industry, causing him to become emotionally dependent on her. As a result, after she broke up with him, he suffered a psychotic break and leaked her address to her eventual murderer to scare her into realizing his despair, which went horribly wrong as her death was not his intended outcome. This, along with his shock upon learning that Ai truly loved him, portrays Hikaru as a tragic villain whose life was perpetually marred by abuse, neglect, solitude and a desperate need to feel loved.
