"Hikaru" (ヒカル, Hikaru) is one of the Characters in The Summer Hikaru Died, written and illustrated by Mokumokuren. Although his body is dead, it still has warmth, organs, and humanly functions such as a pulse[5] – it is shown that he is capable of bleeding, eating, and breathing.[6][7] He can also open slits anywhere on his body to reveal tentacle-like appendages, which he calls his “ugly” side.
