Houjou

Houjou is a female character in the story. She shares the same class as Nishikata and Takagi and Hamaguchi is her love interest. She has a more mature personality relative to her classmates. Houjou is a light-skinned girl who is described as "the prettiest girl in school" with shoulder-length light brown hair that she often keeps braided and neatly brushed on the left side with three purple hair clips on the right side, light brown eyes and a mole under her right eye. Houjou is only seen wearing her school uniform, except for in Season 2 Episode 12 and Chapter 146. When at home she dresses up more casually, she ties her hair in a small side pony, wears glasses and baggy clothes. According to Houjou she looks 'immature or childish' though she just looks more relaxed and not pristine and graceful which is how she looks at school. Houjou is considered to be the most popular girl at the school by many of her classmates. Most notably, she is known for being the most mature of her classmates, often having a more mellow, relaxed attitude. Despite this, she can be seen becoming flustered around her crush, Hamaguchi which is one of the examples of her more childish side. Even though she says her type is mature people, she likes Hamaguchi just the way he is and often his clumsy, anxious and childish actions endearing, quickly realizing just how much he likes her. She is also more casual when not at school, she is not as poised and even her clothes are casual. Another example of her childishness could be that she gets very anxious about going out in the open in her more casual 'childish' state because she doesn't want her classmates to know about that side of her and tries her best to hide it from them.
