Karen Helvetius is a main character in The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess. Karen is the Empress and supreme commander of the Seven Crimson Lords. She is a dearest friend of Yurin Gandesblood (Komari's mother). Learning of Terakomari's powers after she (accidentally) destroyed her school due to Millicent Bluenight, Karen appointed Komari to become a member of the Seven Crimson Lords.
