Kazuhiko Nukumizu is the main protagonist of the Too Many Losing Heroines series as well as the viewpoint character of the series. He is a first-year student of Class 1-C in Tsuwabuki High School, and also the current President of the Literature Club, after choosing to take on the role to save Chika Komari from a humiliating situation in Volume 3. Nukumizu is a teenage boy with average height and average-looking face. He has black hair and dark brown eyes, and fair skin. He doesn't stand out very much and the other people's impression of him would be "normal". He often wears Tsuwabuki High uniform with a green tie when in school, and doesn't dress elaborately when going outside, often wearing T-shirts. He has terrible sense of style and often purchases clothes that are out of date and fashion, such when he bought a jeans with chains just because he thought that it looked cool. His build is often described as "slender" by others, and with a few clothing adjustments and a wig, he is also able to successfully pull off crossdressing as a girl. Nukumizu is a loner, in that he doesn't like social interactions as much and would rather be reading a book than interact with other people. He doesn't have friends at the beginning of the series, and is quite cold and unapproachable on the surface, which is why other people have misconceptions about him. They would often be surprised when they actually get to know him, saying that they "misunderstood" him as a person. He doesn't have a problem dealing with people older or younger than him however, as shown when he deals with customers during the Tsuwabuki Festival, and during the school's open day when he brought middle school students around Tsuwabuki as a tour guide. Despite this, he claims he has trouble dealing with the opposite sex and often gets nervous around them. He has a habit of saying "unnecessary" things subconsciously due to how he doesn't really have much experience in social interactions, and would often disregard the other party's feelings. He is also very blunt and will blatantly blurt out the truth, no matter the situation. This bluntness starts to disappear when he gets nervous, and his usually direct responses are replaced by peculiar wordy excuses; he shares this trait with his sister. He is also a massive otaku of anime, games, and novels having massive cut-outs and merchandise of half naked anime girls in his room and would often have conversations about the anime he watches with Shintaro Tamaki. He has zero experience and little interest in romantic relationships; he has said that he is still attracted to girls but believes that love is not for him. Due to taking care of Kaju ever since he was a child, he developed a severe form of overprotectiveness towards his little sister, to the point that other people called him a "siscon" (someone with a sister complex), which he denies. It is evident, when he tried to stalk Kaju's supposed date, even going as far as infiltrating his former middle school to try and reveal her relationship. As a result of being used to dealing with his sister, Nukumizu often spoils the girls around him, leading them to becoming very comfortable around him. Despite his social ineptitude, he is quite mature for his age, as even Shintaro and Koto both find it hard to believe that he's younger than them. He has a strong sense of responsibility as he took the position of Club President from Chika in order to save her from a humiliating situation, and when he took the responsibility for taking back the confiscated BL doujin that Koto wrote, even though he did not have to. He also did not want to stick his nose in other people's business, but he would stick around as long as they needed him for emotional support, without forcing his way into their problem, as he is more content being an observer. He has a habit of doing things alone rather than relying on others for assistance. Nukumizu is quite a smart student, often ranking above top 50 in the whole grade. His intelligence is not limited to academics though, as shown when he devised a plan to allow for Yumeko and Koto to meet and talk things out rather covertly. He is also someone who goes the distance to help out people he cares about; and due to his inability to understand the implications of trying so hard for others' sakes, has unexpectedly garnered some interest in himself from the female friends around him, to which he remains oblivious to. However, he seems to have a negative habit of only regarding others as proper friends after receiving verbal affirmation from the other party.
