Keisuke and Akira (The protagonist of "Togainu no Chi") grew up together in the orphanage and have remained close – as close as Akira ever gets to anyone, at least. He earns his living as a factory worker, and although he's very diligent, luck has never been on his side. No matter how much effort he puts in, he always seems to end up struggling just to get by.
