Masaomi Kida is Mikado Ryuugamine's best friend from childhood. He encourages Mikado to come to Ikebukuro to attend Raira Academy. Masaomi is enthusiastic about picking up girls despite repeated failures and acts as the comedic foil to Mikado and Anri Sonohara in the early portions of the series.
