Also known as “The Medicine girl”. Kihel is an orphan girl who pays for her bread by making and selling medicines. Throughout Clive's journey in Final Fantasy 16, players will encounter a Medicine Girl multiple times in various cutscenes. Initially appearing insignificant, her constant presence soon proves otherwise as she plays a vital role in understanding numerous subplots within the game, including a major one. The Medicine Girl symbolizes the common people of Valisthea. It becomes evident that she possesses remarkable skills with her poultices but is compelled to work alone, without her parents. The fate of her parents remains a mystery, and the harsh realities of Valisthea prevent any conjecture. The Medicine Girl reappears in various locations and becomes a witness to even more atrocities. Most notably, she plays a central role in Twinside, all the while managing to endure. If Clive's message about humanity's determination holds true anywhere, it is embodied by this young girl. Like Clive himself, she lacks any evident reason to be happy or compassionate, yet she consistently prioritizes the well-being of others. Despite relying on them for income, she offers her healing poultices to both the wounded Joshua and the wounded Dion. Through her character, players are granted a glimpse into the indomitable spirit of humanity in the face of adversity throughout the significant and negative events of Final Fantasy 16.
