Miri Sugo Husbando

Miri Sugo, also known as "Sword Man" (ソードマン Sōdoman?), is a Devil-human Hybrid that merged with the Longsword Devil and serves as a minor antagonist in the Control Devil arc, where he faces the Chainsaw Devil. He returns in the current arc of the Academy Saga as a supporting character. In his human form, Miri is a young man of average height with unkempt black hair and visible dark circles under his brown eyes. He wears a dark blue drawstring hoodie underneath his Fourth East High School uniform. During his time as one of Makima's brainwashed servants, he wore the Public Safety Devil Hunter suit. His human appearance is noted as looking halfway between Denji and Haruka by his fellow students. When transformed, Miri gains a head similar to that of Katana Man, except that it has a pointed face from which two longswords protrude backwards, resembling horns. Miri's arms have blades protruding from them. Initially, Miri's real personality was unknown due to being brainwashed and mind-controlled by Makima, although it seemed like he enjoyed attention as he wanted to impress Makima. Post-mind control, Miri does seem to be fairly regretful for his actions during the fight, as he was able to seek out Denji to talk to him in private and empathize with his current situation. His regret stems from how he allowed himself to be manipulated by Makima, similar to Denji, and as of such not only does he highly value his newfound free will but he also wants to befriend Denji due to their similar circumstances. Despite his best intentions, however, others such as Fumiko have noted how he still seems to be prone to being manipulated by others, despite his insistence that the opposite is true. He is shown to easily fall for the Church's conspiracy theories. When Denji, the real Chainsaw Man, tells him that those are lies, Miri admits that the Church may not be fully honest but that it saved many people regardless and that the ends justify the means, therefore proving Fumiko's point. His idolisation of Chainsaw Man has also left him fairly unsociable and rude towards others that aren't Denji. Upon transferring to Fourth East High School, he immediately announces that he isn't intending on making friends and calls the students trash to their faces. When the female students give him unwanted attention regardless, he is annoyed and asks Denji to make them go away. Despite his attempts to befriend Denji, he seems to draw the line at "infantile behaviour" such as Denji and Mifune talking about what food they'd be able to eat forever rather than discussing his offer.
