German experimental Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) produced by Heckler & Koch, derived from their G36 rifles. Only difference between MG36 and G36 is the heavier barrel to cope with longer firing sessions and modified magazine housing to incorporate the larger Beta C Magazines. Though the weapon concept is sound and modification process being easy, army testers reports no real benefit from G36 rifles being used in a similar role, MG36 was produced only in limited numbers and the concept was later discontinued, instead Bundeswehr adopted MG4 as their 5.56×45mm calibre SAW firearm for their infant...
