Nero Husbando

Nero is the son of Vergil and an unnamed woman, meaning he's the grandson of legendary dark knight Sparda. Born on Fortuna Island, he was raised amongst the Order of the Sword which worshipped Sparda and lived under the same roof as Order members Credo and Kyrie, Credo's sister, whom Nero would later fall in love with. His servitude under the Order would be shaken to its foundation when devil hunter Dante assassinates the pope of the Order in cold blood and starts killing some of the soldiers, leading Nero to stop Dante and at the same time accidentally uncover the secrets the Order had been hiding from the public, including the sword of his then-unknown father Vergil, the Yamato, which resurrected Nero and unlocked his inner potential through Devil Trigger. Eventually it was found out by him that the pope, Sanctus Diabolica, had actually resurrected using demonic power, and was planning on using the Devil Sword Sparda to create a large scale weapon of mass destruction to conquer the rest of the Earth, leading Dante and Nero to defeat him once and for all. 6 years later, and a demon king named Urizen emerged from the Underworld, a couple of weeks after a man in a cloak stole Nero's Devil Bringer arm that had the Yamato stored in there. Nero confronts Urizen twice, the first time without an arm, and the second time with a new prototype weapons system developed by gunsmith Nico dubbed the "Devil Breakers", both times being utterly defeated by him and almost straight up killed each time. Dante also ends up saving him each time, though the first time Dante saved him Rebellion was shattered, and the Devil Sword Sparda was rendered useless. But the second time around Dante unlocked his Sin Devil Trigger and made short work of Urizen, leading Dante, Nero, and the mysterious figure V to chase him to the bottom of the Qliphoth Tree, where Dante and Urizen went at it again. But after this battle between them, V stabs into Urizen and reveals their true form remerged once again: Dante's older brother and Nero's long forgotten father, Vergil. Dante then chases Vergil up to the very top of the Qliphoth Tree, while Nero is left with the rest of the gang reflecting on what had unfolded down in the bottom of the tree. Steeling himself, he ends up abandoning them and climbing up the Qliphoth tree once more, determined to save his family from killing itself, leading to the awakening of his actual Devil Trigger, and allowing him to finally embrace his demonic heritage outright. Nero then curbstomps both Dante and Vergil, which finally lets the brothers reconcile and deescalate the rivalry between them in order to sever the Qliphoth roots from the demon world, where the tree originated from. Nero then leaves with Nico and the rest of the gang, to defend the Earth from demonic invasions while Dante and Vergil spend time in the demon world fighting their way out.
