As a child, after finishing her chores, she would sit on the steps of the Church's side door in her over-washed old clothes, eating nuts while listening in silence to the beautiful singing of the choir. One time, when the Church was empty, she opened her mouth to sing, trying to imitate what she heard—she sounded like an angel, even though no one had ever taught her how to sing. The Church soon discovered her talent and recruited her into the choir.
