Oushi Ashioki is a supporting character in the Sign of Affection manga. He is the childhood friend of Yuki Itose who learned sign language for her and is very good at it. When Oushi was little, he went with his sister to the compulsory civic center. He there saw a girl who did not speak, but signed. That caught his attention and he began to learn sign language. Although he is Yuki Itose's childhood friend, he is not particularly close to Yuki because she attended a school for the deaf until she graduated. However, they started talking again in college. Oushi knows Yuki so well and he is concerned about her relationship with Itsuomi Nagi since he's in love with her.
