Experience from the Bizon project lead Izhmash into developing a successor project, the Vityaz-SN is further developed SMG unit based on the AK-74 and PP-19, general modernization work was done, such as improved modularity and compatibility with combat accessories, converting the oddly shaped helical magazine into a more conventional double-stack box magazine.
