Ran

Ran, or Ran-tan (a pun on the word lantern) as everyone calls her, is a little girl who aspires to be scary, and this hilariously juxtaposes her adorable appearance. Ran-ran is almost always shown wearing a pumpkin helmet, which she only takes off for a few occasions. She can move through space quickly and freely, but above that is her skill regarding makeup and special effects. Ran-tan loves horror and makes that aesthetic everything about her. Sometimes, Ran-tan loses confidence in herself because of her inability to achieve her goals along with her looks serving as a grim reminder, but she still comes out on top in the end, winning competitions. She's also a very gentle girl who takes great care not to harm anyone when trying to give them a scare, as shown when she tried to oppose Aroma who wished to take control of the Halloween labyrinth, much to everyone's despair. In contrast to the other recurrent characters from Pripara, almost nothing is known about her real self outside of Pripara. Ran-tan's only appearances are unfortunately limited to the Halloween episodes and the 4th Pripara movie, where she usually appears as a secondary character and most of the time for comic relief.
