Rino Tanaka

Rino Tanaka is a supporting character in Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge. She is Tanaka's younger sister and Saya's best friend. Rino has black eyes and straight chin-length black hair, cut with blunt bangs. Many people have noted Rino's resemblance to Tanaka, even describing her as Tanaka's "doppelgänger". Rino is normally seen wearing her middle school uniform, which is slightly big on her, as the sleeves cover most of her hands. Rino is a stern, serious girl, many people describing her as "cold". Rino is often told that she looks similar to Tanaka as they both have a listless appearance to them. Unlike her brother, Rino is very diligent and mostly does the shopping, cooking, and cleaning for their household. She has gained the habit of cleaning leather shoes, as shown when Oota paid a visit to their apartment. It is also shown that Rino has a brother complex, and despite often lecturing Tanaka about his lazy behavior, is actually quite attached to him. She expresses a dislike towards Oota, brought about by his closeness to Tanaka, and sometimes gets jealous of him. However, she appreciates the fact that Oota always takes care of Tanaka when she isn't around. Although Rino is a no-nonsense girl, she has a surprisingly childish side, such as spelling out "gotcha!" on the floor with tangerines when she managed to lure Tanaka out of the kotatsu, and going along with Sora's jokes by drawing a rabbit on his hand. She is often exasperated by Sora's persistent attitude, but greatly respects his skill in volleyball.
