Sae Sekihara

Sekihara Sae is the elder twin sister of Sekihara Tae (the manager of the Akabeko in Tokyo). She runs a similar restaurant, called the Shirobeko, in Kyōto. Sae is an attractive young woman with short brown hair tied in a bun at the nape of her neck and covered with a handkerchief, though her bangs curl out over the sides of her brow and are accompanied by two thin strands of hair at the sides of her face. In the anime, her eyes are large and brown. As she is always seen at the Shirobeko, Sae is most frequently observed dressed in her hostess uniform. Sae seems to have a similar personality as her sister Tae: As a successful hostess and manager, Sae possesses a markedly positive and upbeat personality, more often donning a smile than not. She is very accommodating and eager to do whatever is in her power to aid her friends and customers. A smart and capable businesswoman, Sae is able to read people and situations rather astutely in business and her relationships.
