A thousand years ago, Rígr Stafford was a second progenitor among the vampires who always accompanied the First Progenitor, Sika Madu. At some point, Rígr turned Ferid Bathory into a vampire, though he ended up abandoning him when Ferid didn't live up to his expectations. He was also a witness, along with Urd Geales, on the day Sika Madu disappeared with Ashera Tepes. Rígr later gave up his seat and reappeared in Japan as Saitō, working as an assassin for the Brotherhood of a Thousand Nights, and had experiments done on his body, to the point that his vampire nature was barely noticeable.
