Sari Melancholic is a special investigator on terrorism matters. She may use any means to get the truth out of the accused. When she interrogates the accused, she really puts them through the wringershe even physically abuses the alleged criminals. But despite everything, she is a guardian of the law. Solving the cases she investigates is just as important to her as her salary. She interrogated Kinji Ninomiya when he was accused of theft, bootlegging and embezzlement. He was accused of stealing Demonite crystals from the Raiza'ha Mining Corporation. When she received an official document detailing the transaction between Kinji and Raiza'ha, she let him go. The document provided evidence that he had not stolen the Demonite crystals but bought them. Sari is friends with Belza Schubach. The two have been a team since she became a civil servant. Belza describes her as a person who is more honest with herself and her feelings than anyone else.
