Shino

Shino (よしの Yoshino?) is a peppy deer villager in New Horizons. She was revealed in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct on October 15, 2021, and introduced to the game in the version 2.0 update. Her name originates from Yoshino, a Japanese female name, shika ("deer"), and Noh, a genre of Japanese theatre. In New Horizons, she an education hobby and can be seen wearing rimmed glasses, reading a novel while outside, and using a magnifying glass when near certain objects. She is the only peppy villager with the education hobby. Shino is a cream-colored deer with red horns and gray-tipped ears. Her eyes are orange with black eye liner and red eye makeup; her gray eyebrows are short and resemble yin and yang. When she speaks or smiles, her eyes do not close all the way, but remain slightly open. This is a trait shared by Kicks, Marlo, Rasher, and Iggy. Her snout is white and her nose is a light salmon color. The inside of her ears are a red shade; she has yellow/gold hooves. Her tail is tipped with gray and she has white fangs. Shino wears a pale green morning-glory yukata.
