SPAS-12

The Spas-12 (Special/Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun) is a combat shotgun originally designed in 1979 by the gun manufacturer Franchi. The Spas-12 is a dual mode shotgun which can be adjusted for semi-automatic or pump action usage. The Spas-12 was designed to be a rugged military shotgun, dubbed the Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun, later changed to Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun in 1990 because it could be sold in the United States as a shotgun with limited magazine capacity, and a fixed stock.
