Description \ Bio

Suiryu is a martial artist and user of the Void Fist. He was a top contender in the 22nd Super Fight and a five-time champion of the tournament. Later, he joins the Neo Heroes and becomes a Neo Leader. Suiryu is a tall and handsome young man with a lean, very muscular build. He has blue eyes, tan skin, and black hair tied in a ponytail reaching his lower back. He wears a navy blue Chinese-style martial arts uniform, which features white trim, long sleeves, and star-shaped buttons. Under the uniform, he wears metal bands around his biceps. Suiryu is a relaxed and carefree individual, often seen with a smile, and is a notorious playboy who prefers spending time with women over training. He is also perceptive, realizing Bakuzan's bloodlust and strongly believes in the philosophy of natural selection, in which the strong will always prevail no matter what. Suiryu is very eager to fight strong opponents and believes the reason for fighting is to live an easy life without worry. Due to the power gap between him and some of the other contestants at the Super Fight tournament, he is described by Sneck, as strong to the point where he finds himself bored, much like Saitama. As a result, he seeks to fight strong opponents to seek thrills in battle, which is a thing that both he and Saitama have in common. In fights, Suiryu often holds back to make them more interesting, relying solely on his legs and ultimately defeating opponents with a single kick. He tends to engage in casual conversation during battles, and after winning, he sarcastically apologizes for his strength. While fighting Saitama, he reveals a more serious and arrogant demeanor. Once Saitama's disguise is exposed, Suiryu disregards his true identity, focusing solely on winning at any cost. This shift transforms him into a ruthless fighter who mercilessly pummels his opponent, flouting the match's rules in pursuit of victory. Suiryu admires Saitama once he realizes Saitama only seeks thrills and not fame or glory. However, after being defeated by him, he begins to fear and respect Saitama, wishing to avoid future encounters and return to his carefree lifestyle. Initially, Suiryu disliked heroes, since he perceived them as cocky and fame-craving and thinks all of their heroic actions, benevolent preaching, and their sense of justice are boring and a waste of time. He believes that no hero, regardless of their strength or nobility, can resolve all crises or eradicate evil completely. This perspective leads him to prefer a carefree, thrill-seeking lifestyle over fighting for justice, a viewpoint that Saitama seems to disagree with. When Gouketsu attacked the Super Fight stadium, Suiryu defended the other martial artists and refused Gouketsu's offer to join the Monster Association, despite the promise of a relaxed lifestyle as an executive member, as he sees monsters as abominations. Overwhelmed by Gouketsu, Suiryu exhibits fear, acknowledging Gouketsu's superiority in every regard. His pride further diminishes from his previous arrogance when he desperately seeks help from Bakuzan, realizing that he cannot win with his own strength. His former view of heroes changes after being saved by Sneck and Max, revealing gratitude and respect for the two heroes, who returned to the stadium to save him. After being pushed to the brink of death by Bakuzan, he finally and truly sees the error of his disdained view against heroes, crying out for one to save him, tears in his eyes. Despite his hopeless situation, he maintains a sense of pride, refusing to lick Bakuzan's foot; instead, he breaks the latter's toe, even when it could have been his only chance at mercy from the tormenting monster. This act demonstrates his strong willpower and pride, as he refuses to compromise his humanity like others who surrendered for survival or power. Saitama complimented Suiryu on his tenacity to fight the monsters single-handedly until Saitama had arrived. After witnessing Saitama defeat both Bakuzan and Gouketsu, Suiryu expresses gratitude and even asks Saitama if he can become his disciple. He ultimately becomes a hero, determined to help people against monsters and other threats.
