Sumi Saimori

Sumi Saimori, née Usuba, was a member of the Usuba family. She was the daughter of Yoshirou Usuba, the first wife of Shinichi Saimori and the mother of Miyo Kudou. She died from illness when Miyo was two years old. Sumi was a delicate woman with long, shiny, black hair. Her favorite kimono was a pale-pink kimono. When Miyo saw her wearing it in a dream, she thought that she looked like a cherry tree sprite because the color matched the cherry blossoms perfectly. Miyo resembles her greatly.

Sumi was a compassionate and determined woman. In order to save the Usubas from ruin, she disobeyed her father to marry into the Saimori family despite knowing that it will be a loveless match with limited freedom for her.
