Tokiyuki Hojo is a survivor of the fall of Kamakura in 1333, making him the last known member of the Hojo clan. He was the heir to the Kamakura Shogunate before its fall in 1333. A survivor of the Hojo clan, Yorishige will take him to Suwa where he would be disguised as a servant boy working for the Suwa shrine, Chojumaru. He is the leader of the Elusive Warriors. Before the time skip, Tokiyuki Hojo is a short boy with a light complexion. He has long, ink-black hair that was tied in a ponytail with a gold accessory band and parted bangs that tucked into his ponytail. Until Kamakura fell, he was seen wearing a green suikan patterned with the Hojo clan emblem (mitsuuroko), decorated with red ribbons weaved on the rim, a purple Kimono complementing his eyes, and a white undershirt underneath, completed with blue, broad Shimo pants that came to an abrupt slimming at the knees. He sported sandals with white tabi and carried a sword fixed on his waist with a red belt. After Kamakura fell, he is disguised as a Shinto shrine assistant under the instructions of Yorishige Suwa, which consists of a white suikan, again with red ribbons weaved on the rim with yellow kikutoji. A white yukata and a purple Kimono, several tones darker than the previous one. He wears a thicker belt that forms a large ribbon on the front. He wears broad red pants which cinch and slim at the knee. Decorated with matching kikutoji and a now inverted Hojo emblem, resembling a pinwheel. After the 1337 time skip, Tokiyuki Hojo sports short, fresh hair tied in a high ponytail that comes to a halt at his neck, and fringe that covers his brows near the center, parted on both sides and tucked behind his ears. His face framing pieces are kept to his shoulders with a slight curl on the tips. He is seen wearing a white ribbon on his hair, in remembrance Yorishige Suwa's eboshi. He is still wearing his a purple kimono and white suikan, although it is now decorated with a single red bow as opposed to the previous yellow kikutoji seen before. The pattern of his pants altered as well, from three triangles to a repeating pattern of three five-pointed stars mixed with intricate vine patterns. The 1340 time skip presents to change in wardrobe aside form replacing his white hair ribbon to the crown gifted to him by Lord Akiie, and slightly longer hair. Before Kamakura fell, he was a carefree individual who simply enjoyed the excitement of fleeing and leisure, leading him to skip classes and triggering chases between him and Hojo servants. However, after Kamakura fell, he experienced betrayal after betrayal, first from the General he respected, Takauji, and then his uncle, which caused him agony and doubt. Yorishige Suwa, the priest of Suwa, a loyal follower in debt of the Hojo Clan, and later Tokiyuki's adoptive father, sheltered him and gave him retainers and friends. From then on, Tokiyuki has to learn to become a leader who wins by fleeing and living and recruiting retainers that may be of use.
