XP-tan is a personification of the Microsoft operating system, Windows XP, released in October 2001 worldwide. She is an OS-tan* which are moe-anthropomorphism of various computer operating systems and are featured on a fan-made clip called Trouble Windows from the Futaba Channel. *OS stands for Operating System and the Japanese suffix "tan" is a mispronunciation of "chan" which is typically addressed to children or young people; often used for various Japanese mascots and moe-anthropomorphism.
