The Hidden Mist once had a practice of holding death matches for students final exams, and the most skilled would be considered for the Seven Ninja Swordsmen Of The Mist. Zabuza managed to defeat and kill over a hundred students, causing these brutal exams to be forbidden. From then on Zabuza was known as Kirigakure no Kijin, the "Demon Of The Hidden Mist". He is a master of various Water Release Jutsu, wields the Kubikiribocho and is the mentor of Haku.
