Zatch Bell is a mamodo who is one of the two sons of the Mamodo King Dauwan Bell that has lost all memory of his past but with the help of his partner Kiyo they set off to make Zatch the Mamodo King. Battling obstacles Zatch says that he will always be Kiyo's shield so that Kiyo won't get hurt or the book be burned.
