Rei Shijo

Rei Shijo is a character in Princess Connect! and Princess Connect! Re:Dive. A calm demon skilled with a sword, she is a member of Twinkle Wish. An aloof and stoic girl, Rei is very popular in her school, being seen as a clear-cut example of how a girl should be like -- mature, smart and elegant. Due to this, she had a lot of admirers, even having a fan club dedicated to her made by Tsumugi Mayumiya. Her popularity in the real world extends itself in Legends of Astrum, where Rei gained a well-enough reputation as a formidable player skilled with a sword. In spite of all of this, Rei seems to not care about what others see or think of her, paying no mind to the praises she got and would go about her day as usual. Underneath her near-perfect personality hides a troubled girl whose life is being controlled without her own opinion on the matter. Rei's life has been under control by her father, from how she should behave to where her future will be. Because of this, she tries to distance herself from her status as a nobleman's daughter as much as possible, but is unable to fully break away from it, at one point contemplating suicide and even disowning herself from her family just to be set free. Upon meeting Yui Kusano and Hiyori Harusaki, she initially refused their offer to form a guild together, being adamant about her decision of being a solo player and, though she later accepted their invitation, she remained distant from them. Rei also has a hard time trusting other people, as when Yuuki first joined their guild, she was suspicious of him and continued to observe him even after she accepted him as a guildmate. She can become easily irritated if she ever gets left out, such as when Hiyori and Yui recruited Yuuki without first asking for her input, a trait likely stemming from her issues with her family. She was not completely fond of the shenanigans her group would partake in, but the more she spent time with them, the more Rei warmed up to her guild, starting to see them as her friends. Her continued adventures with her friends allowed her to form a strong bond with each of them, to the point that she finally opened up to them about her issues and showed them her vulnerable side. Rei cherishes her friends in Twinkle Wish the most, having agreed to meet them all in person and would continue to spend time with them, both in Astrum and in real life. Rei also has a love for fishing, something she has in common with Yuuki, and teaches Yui and Hiyori how to do properly. By the second game, Rei has considerably mellowed out. She immediately accepts Yui and Hiyori's invitation to form a guild together and helps Yuuki practice how to use his sword, showing that, though her memories are gone, her attitude has improved.
